As most of us know, the Kentucky Derby is a Mecca for fashion enthusiasts. This year's Derby, held this past Saturday, welcomed a record crowd of 164,858 people. Fashion consisted of all things colorful, from dresses and ornate hats for the ladies to seersucker suits and straw hats for the men. On Friday, for the third year in a row, the Churchill Downs track was swathed in pink for "Pink Out" to raise breast cancer awareness and funding for breast cancer research. My friends and I always talk about how we're going to go to the Derby some year. For some reason, it always turns into "Oh, next year". Let's hope we really will be attending next year. Not only to watch the race, but also to help with such a great cause. And just in case you were wondering, Animal Kingdom won the Kentucky Derby this year, finishing the one-and-a-quarter mile race in two minutes and 2.04 seconds.
