Now, on to the shoes. Not only are these sandals cute to begin with but, once you have bought a base (handmade with genuine leather), all you have to do is buy additional straps to change them out. The base has five anchor points that the straps can be looped through, allowing you to create new sandals every day. Super simple, and a cheap way to have a new pair of shoes all the time! On top of that, there are numerous ways that the straps can be tied. All you need is a base, a few straps, and some imagination and the options are limitless!
For those of you in sororities, Sseko is having a challenge right now for 2011 recruitment. By having your chapter wear Sseko's during recruitment, you will be taking part in the challenge. The winners of the challenge, which is determined by the number of participants, will win custom made straps in their schools colors. How fun is that?! Not only will you create a conversation piece with girls during recruitment, but you will also be giving the women in Uganda a voice and a future. If you're interested in signing up, you can learn more and find the form here.
Finally, I have a few friends who are getting married within the next year. Due to popular demand, Sseko is now offering sandals in custom made colors for brides and bridesmaids. I think these would be fun for a beach or garden wedding, or even to switch into for the reception and dancing. No one wants sore or tired feet when they're trying to dance! Click here to order Sseko's for your wedding.
Below are a few pictures of the different straps you can buy for your Sseko's and the multiple ways they can be tied. As soon as I saw these sandals, I was really interested in buying a pair because of how cute versatile they are. However, after reading the Sseko story and learning about the women, I am definitely putting a pair of Sseko's on my must-buy list. How about you?
